Southern Railway came into existence on April 14th, 1951 through the merger of the 3 state railways such as the South Indian Railway, Southern Mahratta Railway, Madras and and the Mysore state railway.

Southern Railway’s covering the states of Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, and a small part of Andhra Pradesh. Southern Railway extends from Kanniyakumari in the south, Gudur in the North East, Mangalore on the west and to Renigunta in the North West. Education Qualification:

Candidates should pass Minimum in 10th standards or ITI or Higher Education qualification also.

Others:
The recruitment process contain of a Written Examination followed by Medical Examination and PET (Physical Efficiency Test). Written examination duration is 2 hours. The question paper has 150 Objective type questions to consider the General Knowledge / Awareness, Reasoning, Mathematics, etc. This question paper shall be printed in English, Hindi & Urdu and Regional Languages, such as Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada only.

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark shall be subtract for each wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

The Candidates should be able to run for a distance of 1500m within 6 minutes for Male / 400m (metres) within 3 minutes for female in one chance.

Get +2 Reexam Retotalling/Answer sheet xerox from online

+2 Reexam results has released in recently. Candidates who needs retotalling or answer sheet Xerox from today onwards don’t need to go director of government examinations office. Just you can apply through online (http://www.dge.tn.gov.in).

Candidates who needs answer sheet Xerox, retotalling will apply separately. If you apply answer sheet Xerox for one subject, than you can’t apply retotalling for that same subject. Once you get the answer sheet Xerox after you will apply for retotalling. You will apply through official website (http://www.dge.tn.gov.in) from august 13, 2012 to august 16, 2012.

Last Date to apply for TNPSC VAO Recruitment 2012

Applications are invited only via online mode upto Friday 10 august 2012 for admission to the Written Examination for Direct Recruitment for post of VAO( Village Administrative Officer) 2012-2013  under Tamilnadu ministerial services.  1870 vacacies are available. The scale of Pay for VAO post is Rs.5,200 – 20200/- + 2,400 –GP(PB1).

The Selection to these VAO vacancies will be made only an approval by the Staff Committee and allotment of candidates to the Districts will be taken up in phases.

Important Dates:
  • Monday 9 july 2012 :- Date of notification.
  • Friday 10 August 2012 :- Last date for submission of applications.
  • Tuesday 14 augest 2012:- Last date for payment of free though Bank or Post office. 
  •  Sunday 30 September 2012:- Date of written examination, time 10.00Am tp 01:00PM.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum 21 years to Maximum 40 years: - SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs,BCs, BCMs and DWs of all Castes.

Educational Qualification:

Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz. Must have passed 10th (S.S.L.C) Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to 12th (Higher Secondary) Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies.

Knowledge of Tamil:

Candidates should possess knowledge of Tamil language.

Scheme of Written Examination:

The question papers will be set in two types (i.e.)
  1. General Tamil (100 items) with and General Knowledge (100 items)
  2. General English (100 items) with and General Knowledge (100 items).

Candidates are given the option to choose either General English or Tamil for answering the 2nd 100 items apart from answering the 1st 100 items on General Knowledge.

Maximum Marks 150+150 =300, minimum qualifying marks for selection is 90. The syllabuses are also available in the Commission’s Website ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in.

Examination Fee:

  • VAO Examination fee Rs.125/- (Examination Fee Rs.75/- + Cost of Application Rs.50/-) (Rupees One hundred and twenty five only)
  • Candidates have also to pay the service charges applicable to the Post Office or Bank or Fee Processing Agency.
Those who have registered in the onetime registration system and paid the application fee of Rs.50/- and received the registration ID and password.

No need pay the application fee for a period of 5 years from the date of registration even if he/she applies for any other posts, subsequently notified by the Commission. But only those candidates shall pay examination fee if applicable.

How To Apply:

Candidates should apply only through online in the service Commission’s Website www.tnpsc.gov.in or in www.tnpscexams.net

Applying Online:

  1. Candidates are first need to log on to the TNPSC’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.net. 
  2. Click "Apply online" to open up the On-Line Application Form.
  3. Select the name of the service or post for which you wish to apply.
  4. If you already have registration ID, please enter the registration ID and password to view the already available information and update them, if necessary.
  5. If you do not have valid registration ID, please enter all the required particulars without skipping any field. 
  6. Candidates are required to upload their as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of signature and photograph. An online application is incomplete without the signature and photograph upload.

Mode of Fee Payment:

Please select the mode of payment (Online Payment/Offline Payment). 

Online Payment (Net Banking, Credit card/Debit card):

  1. Candidates who wish to pay fees via the online payment gateway, i.e. Credit Card and Debit card Payment, Net Banking, an additional page of the application form will be displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in the requisite details to make payment.
  2. After submitting your payment information in the online registration form, please wait for the intimation from the server, DON'T press back or Refresh button in order to avoid double charge.
  3. If the online payment has been successfully completed a Registration ID and Password will be generated. Candidates should note their Registration ID and Password for future reference in respect of the post applied for.

Offline Payment (Post Office or Indian Bank):

  1. For offline mode of payment candidates have to select either your nearest Indian Bank Branch or Post Office.
  2. Click “SUBMIT” to submit the Application form.
  3. Candidates will be provided with Registration ID and password. Please note down the Registration ID and password.
  4. On Submission, system will generate the payment Chelan which the candidate need to take print out and go to your nearest Indian bank or the Post Offices as the case may be, to make the payment
  5. Collect the candidate’s copy of the fee payment Chelan from the Bank. Please check that the Chelan is properly signed and the details of Bank Branch Name and DP Code Number, Transaction Number, Deposit Date have been noted in the Chelan by the Bank Branch authorities.
  6. The Online Registration will be taken as successful one, only if the payment is made either in the post office or in the Indian Bank within 2 working days from the date of submission/registration of application.

Hall Tickets:

The Hall Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in the service Commission’s Website www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.net for downloading by candidates. No Hall Tickets will be sent by post.
