RRC recruiting 2461 Vacancies in Southern Railway and ICF, 2012

Southern Railway came into existence on April 14th, 1951 through the merger of the 3 state railways such as the South Indian Railway, Southern Mahratta Railway, Madras and and the Mysore state railway.

Southern Railway’s covering the states of Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, and a small part of Andhra Pradesh. Southern Railway extends from Kanniyakumari in the south, Gudur in the North East, Mangalore on the west and to Renigunta in the North West. SR headquartered at Chennai, the Southern Railway contains 6 divisions such as Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum and Palghat.

Southern Railway and ICF (Integral Coach Factory) has announced recruitment of (Southern Railway – 2,385 and ICF – 76) 2,461 vacancies for posts in Pay Band -1 of Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.1,800/-

Age:

Education Qualification:

Candidates should pass Minimum in 10th standards or ITI or Higher Education qualification also.

Others:
The recruitment process contain of a Written Examination followed by Medical Examination and PET (Physical Efficiency Test). Written examination duration is 2 hours. The question paper has 150 Objective type questions to consider the General Knowledge / Awareness, Reasoning, Mathematics, etc. This question paper shall be printed in English, Hindi & Urdu and Regional Languages, such as Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada only.

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark shall be subtract for each wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

The Candidates should be able to run for a distance of 1500m within 6 minutes for Male / 400m (metres) within 3 minutes for female in one chance.

Examination Fee: Rs. 40/-

Take Demand Draft (DD) in favour of "The Assistant Personnel Officer/Recruitment, RRC Chennai-600 008" and payable at Chennai from any Nationalised Bank or crossed Indian postal order from any Post office.

Food Corporation of India has played an important role in India's success in converting the crisis management oriented food security into a stable security system. Food Corporation of India Objectives is providing farmer’s remunerative prices, make food grains available at reasonable prices, maintain buffer stocks and price stabilization.

Selection Process:

The Post of Selection will be based on a Written Examination which will be conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Commission).  This written examination will consist of 2 papers as detailed below for General, Depot and Accounts Cadres (Post Codes A, B and D). Candidates applying for Technical (Post Code C) will appear in Paper-I & Paper-III. The written examination in Paper I and II will be of Higher Secondary Level and Paper III will be of degree level. 

Note: Paper-I of the written examination will be held on 11 November 2012 and Paper-II and
III of this examination will be held tentatively on 6 January, 2013. Depending upon the number of candidates, Commission, in its discretion may hold this examination for Paper-I on a later date also.

  • The application fees of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only. Candidates will pay either in the form of challan or net banking through SBI (State Bank of India).
  • No Fees need for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/PH and all women.
  • No needed to be sent any documents to SSC along with the application.
